Future Directions

EMPOWER is expected to evolve and expand over subsequent years, as follows:

2015-2016: 

  • During its first year EMPOWER will focus on building programs that target youngsters, aged 5-18 years, who are presenting with anxiety, mood and/or behavioral concerns.

2016-2017:

  • During its second year of operations, EMPOWER plans to double its provider capacity and add programs that target youngsters presenting with eating concerns. In addition, EMPOWER has plans to add programs targeting women who are presenting with mental health concerns during the perinatal period.  Programs will be added to serve mother-infant dyads and very young children, from birth to age 5 years. Finally, EMPOWER will add the capacity to perform learning assessments, during its second year.

2017-2018:

  • During its third year EMPOWER plans to triple its original provider capacity, adding programs for adults designed to serve parents of youngsters who were referred for treatment, enabling whole families to receive all services needed, within one center.

2018 & Beyond:

  • Once the original, flagship, headquarters center in Greenwood Village, CO has been fully realized, EMPOWER plans to add new satellite centers in cities throughout the region, specifically targeting areas most densely populated with families, including Stapleton, CO, as one example.
  • Ultimately the long-term goal of EMPOWER is to set up Centers of Excellence in Family Behavioral Health in other states, beyond CO, where they would be most merited according to demand.
